FINANCIAL HEALTH CHECK
This comprises a desktop review of your online accounting system information, latest management accounts, statutory accounts, and current year budget or forecast and variance analysis.
We will also review your financing agreements.
We will discuss matters with the business owner and/or senior management team to understand where you are and your plans and future aspirations.
The output is a short bullet-point report and discussion of key findings with the owner and /or senior management team and suggestions for improvement, as well as how we may be able to assist.
FINANCE DIRECTOR /
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFICER
From £1,500 per month
These roles are tailored to the needs of each individual client and are done on a remote/virtual basis (on-site visits included at a premium).
We provide strong Strategic Financial support and oversee your Finance Function. The details of each role varies and generally encompasses:
- Development and implementation of agreed strategy.
- Overseeing production of monthly management accounts and reports (the details and bookkeeping having been done by your Finance Team)
- Producing financial forecasts and variance reports (if required, or ensuring done by the accountants or your Finance Team)
- Managing cash and ensuring good cash management and forecasting.
- Discussions with finance providers with respect to new working capital facilities to allow continued growth and development of the business.
We often agree equity stakes or bonuses/success fees as part of our role which can reduce monthly costs.
EARLY-STAGE DEVELOPMENT INCLUDING UNIVERSITY SPIN-OUT

We have considerable experience of taking good ideas from technical teams and building a business and management team.
We work with the key individuals to develop the strategy, create the business plan and arrange the funding.
We have a 100% record in Scottish Enterprise SMART awards, and supplement this funding from a variety of sources (see Finance Raising).
Going forward we play a key part in driving the development and success.
These roles are only considered where we have a shareholding in the company unless the company is able to pay our fees at normal rates.
We have significant experience of raising finance and receive regular introductions to clients from finance providers.
These roles are usually part of an existing or anticipated Finance Director/Chief Financial Officer role and usually involve a bonus and/or success element, including equity.
We work with and raise finance from high net worth individuals, angel syndicates, venture capital companies, private equity companies, family offices and corporate investors.
We have many key contacts that we have worked with in the past.
The key to successful finance raising is a well thought through company strategy, a strong management team and robust financial forecasts.
DEVELOPMENT OF STRATEGY AND BUSINESS PLAN, INCLUDING FINANCIAL FORECASTING

This is usually forms part of an existing Finance Director/Chief Financial Officer role.
These roles will be generally only be considered if there is an ongoing requirement for our services.
As stated in the Finance Raising section above, the key to successful finance raising is a well thought through strategy, strong management team and robust financial forecasts.
We work with you to develop a robust suite of information ensuring that there is a chosen destination and level of ambition that the company is working towards.
EXIT AND SALE
Price on application.
We work with companies on their “Growth and Exit” plans and inevitably play a key role in their ultimate Exit and Sale.
The Exit and Sale process usually involves engaging with potential acquirers and managing the process.
Potential acquirers may be competitors, suppliers, financial buyers, foreign companies or the management team.
Following negotiation and acceptance of sale terms, we ensure high quality information is available for the due diligence exercise and manage the process.
We generally co-ordinate the full team of advisers including legal, accounting, tax and other, and ensure that the commercial terms agreed are documented in the legal documentation.
We have significant experience and expertise in this type of work.
RESTRUCTURING AND TURNAROUND

We have significant experience of working with underperforming companies and businesses with financial challenges.
these opportunities are usually by way of introduction from banks and investors.
We provide the role of the “calm head” and the voice of reason.
Our role is to give confidence to the existing finance providers, suppliers, management team and employees.
We work to understand what went wrong and devise effective plans to resolve the sitation and to recover.
